A Call for Questions, Advice, and Unwanted Truths

Hello Everyone,

My name is Maddie. I am inviting inquiries regarding your wonderings about your relationships with others: parents, partners, pets, pals, and pupils. I have years of experience as a therapist and want to share my knowledge of relationships with you, my readers. Please feel free to post queries for advice about your relationships, and I will work to provide some answers.

I can't wait to start servicing my masters.

Sincerely,

Maddie: Bernese Mountain Dog

Hi Maddie -
I am way way too neurotic to have relationships with others, unless that "other" is a tennis ball. Although in a pinch, a dried pine cone, piece of petrified wood, or rotting plum will do.

Dear Maddie -
I am a high energy, anxious dog, typically not to be trusted (as classic for my breed) and my owner is moving from a house with a yard to a small apartment where I will be pent up inside all day. Clearly I am very nervous and worked up about this. I need to run, and herd things and guard our fenceline. I have all this pent up energy and anxiety. However, my owner feels like the best solution is to keep me drugged on Xanax for the weeks preceding and following this terrible move. How do I get her to take me to the park instead? Please help, she's already starting to feed me her own Xanax and I feel so funny.

Gorked,
Ellie Mae - Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler

Dear Maddie,

I would like some advice on how to feel more comfortable around others of our species. I am a very adorable but sometimes shy Havenese and when I am around another dog, I become possessed-I turn into a monster, biting and barking at the top of my lungs. How do you stay so calm and collected?

Maddie,

Don't pay any attention to that George in Seattle. I happen to be his mother and he should know better. I taught him much better than that! How do you get a child to listen to his parent? I think if he just got a job, he wouldn't have time to be so mean to others.
